So, I'm on a diet in January because I'm extremely cliche like that. My mom got into weight watchers as a new years resolution and she's given me an arbitrary amount of "points" that I'm supposed to stay under every day. I'm not officially on the diet, she's just using her account on the website to calculate what I'm eating. So, today I'm supposed to be under 45, I'm at 58 and currently munching on some crunchy strudel things (I forget what they're called. Quaker makes them.) because I might as well put myself at an even 60. I've never given a shit about my health or appearance, but I'm getting a little bit too unhealthy for my moms tastes, so I'm dieting. Yes, I am 14 years old.

Also, I somehow like The Killers again. They released some 17 track album that was at wal mart for 12 bucks, so I got it and it's good enough that I can listen to it without cringing at Brandon Flowers' voice on most of the songs.

INAPPROPRIATE

Apparently my Public Relations teacher finds the American Apparel ads on the back of the FFWD distasteful or something. I've seen them, but I've never really paid attention to them. There's like, half-naked people I suppose, but it's pulled off more tastefully than Victoria's Secret or most of the ads that have ever used sex appeal ever.

Well, I've finished subjecting myself to the horrors of the Calgary Stampede and I'm off to Oregon and Washington to be ridden of this city until the heatwave and madness is over. I won a Calgary Flames basketball in a water gun contest. I'm not even sure how that works.

I'm now addicted to this song. It's a cover of an LCD Soundsystem song and I've never heard the original and I don't care. It's so good. Franz Ferdinand's guitars have no equal.

I broke down and got a facebook. I don't know how the whole thing works entirely right now, but I understand that you can just type in my name if you're inclined to take a look at it for whatever reason.

Been rather busy lately. Working at Jugo Juice full time, 5 days a week and all that. And it's hell. Pure and utter hell. More than half my coworkers are incompetent, unfortunately. There are 3 I can trust with stuff, but I have to babysit everyone else, which sucks. I can see why some people go from job to job rather quickly, because being the senior employee on duty sucks. I'm one of the least responsible people I know, so everything usually goes to shit when I'm working with somebody who's newish. Anyways, work sucks. I should be paid to sit in my parents basement and play video games.

I thought I was gonna make a big post about something else, but I can't remember what it was. Maybe I just went "hey, I should make a big post on LJ about something" but had no idea what to post.

My little brother got a Wii for his birthday. So anyways, enough livejournal, back to playing Wii Sports.

So I decided to post at 3 in the morning.

I liked The Prestige. Yes, Hollywood is fucking dumb. "No! 200 plot twists in the last 20 minutes of the movie is not enough! Need more! MORE!" I don't really care, still a pretty good movie. The only problem I had with it was that Caine's character motivation for the plot twist involving him (ZOMG SPOILERS) didn't make any sense. The only thing that made anything close to sense about it was his little spiel about the dude's daughter near the end. Still, he grows a fucking concsience all of a sudden at the end of the movie even after he wouldn't shut up all throughout the movie about Danton "getting his hands dirty"? Give me a break.

NFL draft is tomorrow, like anyone but me cares. I took the day off to watch because I can. I'm not really rooting for my teams to pick any specific players, there's a lot of good talent in this years draft, anybody in the first round will be a big help to my teams. I kind of hope the Cardinals get Joe Thomas. I also hope the Redskins don't trade down to get Lance Briggs, the Cowboys division has way too many good defensive players to have to see twice a year as it is. That's about it. The Raiders really don't need Jamarcus Russell at #1. They can take a QB in the 2nd round and develop him, Kiffin is capable enough to mold a QB with some talent into a good Franchise QB. Or maybe they can just have a mediocre QB (if Walter hasn't been too psychologically damaged from getting sacked every other play and if he actually had an O-line he could play well enough for their defense to actually do something for them) somewhere and win a super bowl with their defense. Either way, Russel is not a player you have to take just because he's the best QB available in the draft. They should trade down or take Calvin Johnson. Maybe Joe Thomas at #1, but if they're planning on taking Thomas, they should try and work a trade with the Bucs to pick at #4 'cause Thomas should still be available at that point. The Bucs will probably go for that because the Lions are talking about taking Calvin Johnson at #2 who the Bucs desperately want. But if Thomas is there for the Cards at #5, he's ours. Of course the Raiders will probably take Jamarcus just 'cause there's too much pressure to take him. I know Al Davis is a guy who doesn't like to be pressured into doing things (crazy mofo took a punter in the first few rounds in one draft), but anyone else other than Jamarcus is going to get booed severely if they have to go up to that podium and hold up that Raiders jersey. I only post all this in case someone who actually cares about the NFL enough to know what I'm talking about ever reads this.

LOST is getting good again. I was semi-bored with that show in season 2, but it's starting to pique my interest once again. The end of that last episode is gonna take some explaining, and I have no idea how they figure they're gonna wrap all of this up in only 5 seasons, which is how long the show is supposed to go. Seriously, if you've only got 2 more seasons to finish this, stop dicking around with filler episodes (Hurley's flashback, Nikki/Paulo flashback. Don't get me wrong, I really liked both of these episodes a lot, but filler when you've only got a couple of seasons left?) and give us some fucking answers. Desmond is awesome, by the way.

It's 330 now, so I doubt that anything I just typed makes any sense grammaticaly or otherwise. Grammaticaly. Grammatica. He's the Dallas Cowboys kicker, because Vanderjagt sucked too much. And now Shawn Suisham who was on our practice squad and actually started a couple games for us is all of a sudden a freaking amazing kicker for the goddamn redskins. Parcells has had the worst luck with kickers ever since he came to Dallas. Maybe Wade will change all that and Grammatica will be good for a few seasons. Or 10 more season, Morten Andersen is pretty old and still kicking, Grammatica could probably last 'til 50 if he wants to. I wonder when Mason Crosby is gonna get picked? Maybe the Falcons will take him so they can get rid of Morten Andersen. Thank goodness I don't have to worry about the Cardinals kicker. Thank goodness indeed.

I just realized that Boston Legal's actually a pretty good show. Huh.
